The Children's Chautauqua in Cortez is a week long day camp for children ages 8 - 11, to be held 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, 2019. A family performance is scheduled for Saturday, June 29, at the end of camp. The camp will offer 3 different tracks - art, music and theatre - with 10 campers in each track. The tracks will meet separately, coming together for a performance at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 28 at the Sunflower Theatre.
Campers should be dropped off at the Cortez Cultural Center plaza at 8:30 each morning for a breakfast snack and opening exercises. The 3 tracks will then work on their own part of the performance from 9 a.m. to noon, gathering again at the Cultural Center plaza for lunch and closing exercises. Campers will be picked up at 1 p.m. by families. Each camper will need to bring a sack lunch. Camp registration includes a $25 fee for materials for each camper, and registration is on a first come, first served basis. Registration will open on May 25th, more details to come!
